WHY IT’S WORTH THE DRIVE

Why Newport Beach Homeowners Make the Drive

An hour down the coast buys a tree that would take decades to grow.

LEGACY

More Years Growing Than Any SoCal Fruit Tree Nursery

Our long history means better advice for Newport’s coastal gardens.

40 YEARS

Specimen Trees for Coastal Homes

Choose from trees as old as 40 years. They frame a patio or entry from day one.

COAST-READY

Picks That Like Ocean Air

We help you choose trees that tolerate breezes, marine layer and sandy soil.

RARE

Tropical Varieties Few Nurseries Stock

Find cherimoya, sapote, guava and lychee in sizes you won’t see locally.

FEATURED TREES

Fruit Trees for Newport Beach Patios, Bay Fronts and Bluffs

Newport Beach gardens get cool marine air and plenty of salt breeze.

These varieties enjoy mild coastal weather or grow happily in patio containers.

Availability changes often. Check our inventory or call 760-434-5085 before you make the drive.

CHERIMOYA

Booth Cherimoya for Mild Coastal Air

Cherimoya prefers mild summers, so coastal Newport is a natural fit. Booth is a hardy variety with creamy, sweet flesh. Shelter it from direct salt spray on the harbor side.

In our yard: Booth, Dr. White

SURINAM CHERRY

Lolita and Chamba Surinam Cherry

Surinam cherry makes a glossy, clipped hedge that also fruits. Lolita has nearly black fruit with low resin flavor. Chamba ripens deep red. New leaves flush bronze-red in spring.

In our yard: Surinam Lolita, Surinam Chamba, Acerola, Capulin, Minnie Royal, Royal Lee

PATIO CITRUS

Meyer Lemon, Calamondin and Kumquat

Citrus in glazed pots dresses up any Balboa Island or Corona del Mar patio. Meyer lemon is the top choice for cooks. Calamondin and kumquat stay small and showy. Use fast-draining potting mix.

In our yard: Meyer Lemon, Calamondin, Nagami Kumquat, Fukushu Kumquat, Buddha Hand

AVOCADO

Reed and Hass Avocados

Avocados handle coastal Orange County well when they get good drainage. Reed ripens in summer, after many Hass crops finish. Together, the two can keep your kitchen stocked for much of the year.

In our yard: Reed, Hass, Fuerte, Lamb Hass

PLUMERIA

Plumeria for Fragrant Patios

Plumeria is not a fruit tree, but it thrives on sunny Newport patios. The fragrant blooms bring a Hawaiian feel to pool decks and entryways. It grows well in pots and likes dry winters.

In our yard: Plumeria, Bird of Paradise, Champaca

FEIJOA

Pineapple Guava Hedges

Pineapple guava tolerates salt breeze and clips into a neat screen. Fruit drops when ripe in fall and tastes like pineapple and mint. Gray-green foliage suits coastal design palettes.

In our yard: Pineapple/Feijoa, Strawberry Guava, Mexican Cream
