SEASONED

Decades of Fruit Tree Know-How

We are the oldest fruit tree nursery in Southern California. That experience helps you plant slopes the right way.

40 YEARS

Trees With a Head Start

Plant an established tree. Some are already carrying fruit on the day you visit.

SLOPE-SMART

Great Picks for Hillside Yards

Laguna Hills has many sloped lots. We help you choose trees that like good drainage.

CLOSE

An Easy Drive Down I-5

At under an hour, a weekend nursery trip is simple. Bring a truck and fill it.

FEATURED TREES

Heat-Loving Fruit Trees for Laguna Hills Gardens

Laguna Hills sits inland enough for warm summers but still gets ocean air.

That mix suits mangoes, limes, apricots and grapes from our yard.

Availability changes often. Check our inventory or call 760-434-5085 before you make the drive.

LIME

Bearss, Mexican and Kaffir Limes

Limes love warm, sheltered spots on south Orange County hillsides. Bearss is the seedless Persian lime. Mexican lime is the small, intense bartender's lime. Sweet lime is very limited, so call first.

In our yard: Bearss, Mexican, Kaffir, Sweet

APRICOT

Blenheim, Katy and Royal Apricots

Blenheim is the famous California apricot, rich and perfumed. Katy is a low-chill variety that suits mild Orange County winters. Bella Gold Peacotum is a peach and apricot cross worth trying.

In our yard: Blenheim, Katy, Royal, Autumn Royal, Bella Gold Peacotum, Cot-N-Candy

MANGO

Manila Mango for Warm Slopes

Inland warmth gives Laguna Hills mango trees a head start. Our Manila mango has a long, slim shape and very little fiber. Plant it on a south slope with fast-draining soil.

In our yard: Manila (Philippine), Corriente (limited)

GRAPE

Crimson, Thompson and Himrod Grapes

A grape arbor turns a hot patio into a shaded outdoor room. Thompson and Crimson are classic seedless table grapes. Himrod ripens early and tastes like honey. Canadice adds a red seedless option.

In our yard: Himrod, Princess, Thompson, Midgely's Purple, Canadice, Autumn Royal, Crimson

AVOCADO

Lamb Hass and Hass Avocados

Lamb Hass tastes like Hass but ripens later and handles heat well. Planting both stretches your avocado season through more of the year. Give them deep, infrequent watering.

In our yard: Lamb Hass, Hass, Reed, Fuerte, Mexicola

POMEGRANATE

Sweet and Field Sweet Pomegranates

Pomegranates thrive in the dry heat of the Saddleback Valley. Sweet and Field Sweet have lower acid, so they appeal to kids. Wonderful is best for juicing.

In our yard: Sweet, Field Sweet, Wonderful, Loma Red, White

Pomegranate and persimmon tolerate drier hillside soil once established.

Citrus Trees

Lemons and oranges suit both slopes and flat backyards.

Berries & Vines

Grapes on a hillside trellis make good use of a slope.

Flowering Trees

Plumeria loves the warm, bright conditions on south-facing yards.

Spices, Palms & More

Bamboo and palms can help screen neighbors on terraced lots.

Fruit Trees That Thrive in Laguna Hills

Laguna Hills enjoys warm days, ocean breezes and very little frost.

HILLSIDE LOTS

Sloped Yards & Ridgelines

Great drainage and sun, which tropicals love.

Good picks: avocado, mango, cherimoya, sapote and macadamia.

VALLEY FLOORS

Lower Neighborhoods

Slightly cooler nights, with richer soil.

Good picks: citrus, fig, persimmon, pomegranate and loquat.

PATIOS & COURTYARDS

Townhomes & Smaller Lots

Big pots in full sun still produce plenty of fruit.

Good picks: dwarf citrus, kumquat, fig, guava and dragon fruit.

LAGUNA HILLS & SADDLEBACK VALLEY

Fruit Trees for Laguna Hills Slopes and Canyon Views

Homes above the Laguna Hills Community Center sit on warm, sunny slopes.

Manila mango, Bearss lime and Blenheim apricot love that south-facing heat.

Toward Aliso Viejo and the Aliso and Wood Canyons park, evenings cool down faster.

Pomegranates and arbor grapes like Thompson Seedless handle the swing easily.
